Taxmo Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to taxmo.co.uk and the Taxmo web application at the same domain, operated by DataIQ B.V. trading as Taxmo. It sets out the conformance level Taxmo claims, what is known not to be fully accessible, how the assessment was made, and how to report a problem.

What should work

The aim is that as many people as possible can use the website and app. That means you should be able to change colours, contrast levels and fonts through browser or operating system settings, zoom in up to 300 per cent without text spilling off the screen, navigate most of the site with a keyboard alone, navigate most of it using speech recognition software, and listen to most of it with a screen reader, including recent versions of NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver.

The text is written to be as simple to understand as the subject allows. AbilityNet publishes advice on making a device easier to use if you have a disability.

Conformance

Taxmo self-assesses as conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at AA level. The product is built on accessible UI primitives, uses semantic HTML, and provides labelled form controls, ARIA landmarks, focus management, keyboard navigation and a high-contrast theme.

There are acknowledged limitations to that conformance, listed below. In Taxmo's assessment they do not prevent users of assistive technology from completing the core flows: signing in, recording income and expenses, calculating VAT and tax liabilities, and preparing returns.

Known non-accessible content

The following are tracked and prioritised for fixing.

  • Charts and dashboards: some visualisations rely mainly on colour to convey trend or status. Text alternatives and table fallbacks are being added progressively.
  • PDF exports: generated invoices and reports are not yet tagged for screen reader navigation. The same information is available as HTML inside the app.
  • Third-party embeds: the Stripe checkout flow and HMRC OAuth pages are operated by third parties and follow their own accessibility guidelines.
  • Marketing animations: some scroll-triggered animations on the public landing page do not yet honour the reduced motion preference on every element.

How this statement was prepared, and how to report a problem

The statement was prepared on 28 April 2026 from a self-assessment by DataIQ B.V. against the WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria. Automated accessibility checks run on each front-end release and violations are handled in the normal development cycle. The statement is reviewed at least annually and whenever significant changes are made.

If you find an accessibility problem, or need information in a different format such as accessible PDF, large print, easy read or audio, email contact@taxmo.co.uk. Taxmo will consider the request and respond within 10 working days.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service at equalityadvisoryservice.com.
